History
In 1975 our City Leaders decided
to form our own Police Department. Prior to 1975 we depended
on the service of our Saline County Sheriff's office. Due
to under staffing at the Sheriff's office, we formed our
own Police Department using a part-time staff. In 1996, Federal
Grants were used to form a well-needed full time staff of
officers along with an additional part-time officer.
In 1999, an additional
Federal Grant was approved enabling us to hire another full
time Police Officer.
At this time,
Haskell has 5 full-time officers. Haskell is also patrolled by the Saline
County Sheriff's office and the Arkansas State Police.
The Haskell Police Department
is centrally located across from Harmony Grove School.
