We appreciate your efforts in revising and improving the education system in Arkansas. We have some concerns that we would appreciate you addressing as you seek equity for our student’s educational opportunities.

1. We feel adequate education cannot and should not be based solely on numbers.
2. We prefer to retain local control of our school system even as we work together to increase the size and efficiency of our present district.
3. Please provide our school administrators with an itemized list of core curriculum and preferred educational standards.
4. Publish the amount that must be spent on each individual student.
5. Allow the schools adequate time to meet the required standards.

Our Harmony Grove School District is well established with millage above the suggested minimum. We have quality teachers with salaries within the suggested limits. The student test scores are comparable or above those of the surrounding schools, and the pupil-teacher ratio is excellent.

Our community works hard to maintain high educational standards, and will continue to do so as we strive to improve our schools.
